Our volunteers are the heart of Kowiachobee. From feeding and caring for animals to helping at events or assisting with maintenance and groundskeeping, every task supports the wellbeing of our residents.

Examples of volunteer roles include:

No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn, work hard, and care deeply. We’ll provide training and guidance along the way.

Family & Youth Volunteering
At Kowiachobee, we love seeing families volunteer together! Kids are welcome to volunteer and be part of the experience — it’s a wonderful way to learn compassion, responsibility, and respect for animals.

Volunteers 18 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Many families find that volunteering here is a rewarding way to spend quality time together while making a real difference for the animals.
